Wednesday, December 30, 2009 the peak period here is pretty hectic.. thankful that i've only 25 schools to take charge of; can't imagine if i've more. some of the Principals and VPs are really nice some are not that nice but overall, it certainly hones my patience and people management skills not regretting stepping into HR line in MOE. off to elena's hse for new year's party tmr is 1/2-day which i've to complete my work becos i refuse to bring any work home this weekend watchnight tmr night and then it's *yay* 1 Jan! hubby and i discussed on how we wanna celebrate our anniversary when we were in penang and came up with the picnic idea something that i really wanna do and not just for 2010, but for the many anniversaries to come! honestly, i can't wait for 1 Jan. can't wait for the picnic with beloved friends, can't wait for the dinner at our fav place.. can't wait! can't wait! i wish there's a photographer who can be around the whole time from 3pm onwards to night.. to capture the moment. i can't believe i've been married for a year! wheeeeeeeeeeee. //posted by ivy @ 19:08//
Sunday, December 13, 2009 it was a good time of rest though. it was reg's birthday on thurs and cindy cooked the nice neighbour offered to cook my dinner too since i'm sick yay! and it's rare that cindy cooked! had a crazy sat dance pracs and camp are finally over the small group of us went out for lunch at clementi, $0.99/plate sushi at shin tokyo and on to yummy durian ice-cream at haato played a game where opposite parties need to swop their places on a board; and I learnt never to be opposite celine! opps. a short taboo after that; some classic hints given, esp by reginald. XO fish beehoon at holland village after that and home sweet home thanks for the company, neighbour and friends and thanks to the chauffeur for the day! =) one more week of work before i'm on leave the entire of next week heading down to penang for a short trip with hubby and back on christmas eve and soon, it'll be our wedding anniversary. how fast. off to sleep and face the one week of work to come. oh yah, launch of young adults ministry on 19th dec (sat) before we leave for penang. =) //posted by ivy @ 22:18//
Friday, December 04, 2009 the honeymoon period flies; and i recalled being loaded with work on my first day of second month how interesting. an increase of workload again today a slow increase but surely, steep learning curve upon knowing the increase, my partner came to assure me not to worry because she will try her best to guide me through the unknown ahead that's very nice, really. it's very assuring that i'm not left to drown. the only frustrating issue so far is the uncertainly in many decisions that need to be made i'll ask them on how to handle a particular issue and most of the time, i'm left with no solution simply becos they aren't sure too. that's the difficulty of our work, and especially so when the unit is new, and still in trial period. my new laptop (a slim lenovo x200) is arriving in 2-4 weeks' time. i can't wait! although i must say the current temp laptop i'm using is equally good. still stuck in a small cubicle which is meant for asst executive becos they have run out of cubicles for executives.. which means there's a useless big desktop stuck on the table and i can't move it away for the time being - even lesser space for the papers which are slowly making my table their new home. i've gotten use to the paper culture it's quite clear becos i've no qualm printing out things, just to make my work easier. i mean, it's definitely easier to be checking things, calculating etc using hardcopies.. initially, i've tried to do it on softcopy. now, i give up. i head to the printer that is a metre away and retrieve my huge stack of print-outs. a rare thing to do, since a long time ago. //posted by ivy @ 16:02// |
