filming is stressful
i know it because i couldn't sleep well the night before
and i dreamt about the filming
that concludes... it stressed me out.
yucks. i hope i don't have to go through the third time. =(
reno updates:
most of the lights were installed yesterday but becos not all the switches are up, we couldn't see the whole house's effect yet.
painting was supposed to be completed as well but we spotted quite a bit of shoddy work so gonna get them to rectify
class today is eeeky yucky
if im the student, i wouldn't want to come for class because it's simply dead boring
no one talks to anyone. bleah.
if im the faci (but i'm!) and have a choice, i would certainly dump this class, gladly. anytime.
that's how bad it is.. probably easily the yuckiest class i've in my entire duration teaching here and ... i've taught quite a lot of classes - at least 3 per semester.
alright. shan't complain anymore, at least i know time will pass quickly cos i can't be bothered much with them
over the weekend, i've loads to do:
- day 1 grading (15 students)
- day 2 grading (14 students as of now)
- UT grading
- youth entrepreneurship conference slides
- revised slides for northview secondary
i can do it
i can, i can, i can.
*reminds me of GB camp cheer! =)

i'm still thinking about the internal carcass of all of them.. =)
thinking about all these... when i'm having my facilitation filming tmr is not quite a good thing
so distracting!

we're having our site measurement on sat noon for all our carpentry stuff and so, i spent a while just now doing up how my wardrobe would look like
i literally went through my wardrobe, measured everything and drew the layout so that i can envision it.. whee! so cool.
as for his, i got no idea how he wants it - i think it's just plain and simple. guys mah. hahaha!
heading down to ikea soon to get the needed stuff for measurement
if i'm early, i might just head over to new house to check the painting and the electrical work

the rain in the morning sounded quite scary
instead of being in a deeper sleep, i stayed awake till the rain got smaller and the thundering sounds were all gone
flooring issue for the new house hasn't settled yet; the HDB officer hasn't got back to me
the electrician hasnt confirmed the series of clipsal switches yet
my ID ought to go upgrade himself; he has no idea about it at all when i asked him to coordinate for me regarding the switches
sometimes, i wish decision can be made by itself..then there'll be no issues about who makes what decisions and whether one party is happy or unhappy about it.
waiting for the bathroom to be free before i go shower and head over to elena's place to prepare for D&D.
she's doing up my hair, then we'll go down meritus mandarin together
yummy food, i hope. =)
GB family day tmr, superly early.
got to reach south view at 7.45am!
i'm going to look like a garang guni girl with lotsa newspaper.
siew mei took over my class today; i think she "gained" from it.
when i took her class on mon, there were 15 students
today, my class only has 14 students!
bleah.
i wonder how i am going to pass my facilitator certification when they film my day 1 class next week
they're still so ever quiet. yucks.
i have not started on my research for youth entrepreneurship conference, and im so dead.
leslie is going to nag endlessly.
give me some space to breathe, and i'll ensure you get your stuff. breathing down my neck won't help. =(
photoshoot pics are ready for selection
i wonder when we're choosing them.. because we're busy everyday.
top up or not, that's another decision to be made again.

being an educator, my role is to develop students
sometimes, they are a real pain but other times, they can be the joy-giver of the day
i'm the advisor of a CCA in school which plans quite a bit of both internal and external event
because of my heavy academic workload, we try to co-plan with the students and let them learn throughout the process
we decided to let one group of freshies to plan an upcoming makeover competition and i'm so impressed by their work over the holidays!
now.. the thing about RP students is that:
- they spend their holidays in chalets
- they work most of the time (holidays and after school daily)
- they are just horribly bad at admin stuff like coming up with an event proposal etc.
many more.. but these are the common ones which always make me scream when they plan events
so i really didn't expect anything this morning when i sent out an email to remind them to submit their draft plans to me next wed
few minutes later, the student IC sent me their draft proposal and i opened the file half-heartedly. i mean, what do you expect from yr 1 students? haha. merely 17 years old, and usually don't even align their paragraphs in word doc when they submit things.
but..
i was totally impressed by their
draft proposal!
they gave me what they intend to do and it's so specific like splitting the IG up into 3 teams, and 5-6 members per team, with clear roles.
competition guidelines were out, time frame was thought of and most importantly, logistics were all thought of.
all the details are written in clear format and the document itself can already pass off as an publicity poster! =)
see.. these students are the reason why teachers are still teachers.
just one student like this can make my day!
oh yah.
the entire CCA is 98% girls and 2% guys.
this particular student belongs to the 2% and yet, the effort he put in is probably 98%!

made quite a big decision over our renovation yesterday afternoon and thereafter, spent the evening of around 4 hrs at ikea once again
our study room is almost done up, and so is our pocket almost emptied! =(
been spending so much these few weeks but it's real fulfilling to see bits of our house being done up. i can't wait to see the outcome of our investments! =)
practically tire myself out yesterday and i really didn't expect to be activated today but a call came at 7.20am and i jumped.
argh. what a nice start to the new term..bleah.
thank God this class has only 15 students; if not, i'll faint.
it's halfway into the students' presentation now and im multi-tasking..haha. they will never know because they think im typing down their comments. oh well, it happens both way. they will pretend to do research while msning all the way.

thanks to mao for being the unofficial photographer for our wedding photoshoot day
she sneakily snapped a few photos when she dropped by the studio that morning.. =)
in the changing room.. that's the first indoor shoot gown which i'm only wearing it for photoshoot.
he's still dolling himself up while i was all ready for the first shoot.
the lightest gown i've for outdoor shoot.. but the longest veil ever. it's much, much longer than my gown!
the rest of the photos?
wait till my wedding day! =)

woke up at an unearthly time of 3.30am on sat morning to prepare for our first fun shoot
gave people morning calls then i sleepily made my way over to candice's place for her to do up my hair and we were ready to set off at 5am.
before that, zhong had already fetched both our photographers over and soon, we were on our way to ECP
settled down for a quick bite at mac before attempting to catch the first few photos of the day while the sun brightened up the sky
made our way to some other parts of ECP as well and candice was so sweet!
initially, she just stood around to keep watch of our belongings etc, then she started stoning away, and she decided that she want to make her presence useful by being the "director" of the photoshoot
she gave some funny ideas here and there as well, and of course the two photographers too.
overall, i think we had fun! =)
met the GB alumni in the afternoon to discuss the games for family day and although i felt a little sleepy, i still made my way over to baby's place
in the evening, we went to bukit timah's courts with my soon-to-be mother-in-law for some window shopping and to get her views on the applicances
dinner nearby before we went back home
sunday was school event, don't want to talk about that.
it was simply boring.
the day was bad till dear said that we have the vehicle for the day and we could do some shopping around
so he came over to fetch me and we spent the entire evening of 4 hrs at ikea
grabbed $300+ worth of stuff and lugged them back in the van
monday was more exciting.. he came over for lunch with my parents and together, we headed over to the new house to meet our IDs
after a short while at the house, my parents went back while we continued to settle the colors and finishing for our customised items
initially, dear had to go fetch his brother and helped in some BB camp preparation but both ends decided that they could make do without his help and off we went to jalan besar again!
this time around, we didn't need the directory much. haha.
managed to catch henry from royal fanco before the shop closes and we spent the next 2 hrs plus there! he's really one very patient guy, no complaints having to make two trips down to locate him.
after which, we dropped by another store and got ourselves a good deal for cooker hob and hood too.
that practically closes the "jalan besar" chapter; no need to travel so far down anymore!
the feeling is awesome!
to have settled so many purchases over the span of a few weeks and many other things done as well.
what would we (teachers) do without holidays? haha.
thank God for holidays!

been such an exciting week!
mon
pampering myself day where i had facial, eye-mask, a little body massage and french manicure, all in preparation for the photoshoot the next day
tues
couldn't really sleep much on monday night because i was simply so, so excited
woke up real early to get ready and head for breakfast before reaching the studio ahead of time
met the new make-up artist for the first time and she's good
no regrets changing to her at all!
soon, it was changing to the different outfits and the phototaking started
the photographer is good too; he made us feel so at ease
as well, no regrets requesting for him after the compliments about him in the forum
mao was being our super helper that day; right from going to raffles city to shop for belt, to buying lunch, to settling the booking of cathedral for us, to taking tissue for me..haha.
thanks mao! we really appreciate your help!
of course, not forgetting gladys and uncle pooh etc. they were so hilarious in church office.
outdoor shoot was from cathedral to botanic gardens to sentosa to clarke quay
all throughout the journey, it was alternating between sun, cloudy and rain but they all fell in place at the exact right timing
let's see.
drizzle in the morning > stopped when i made my way to studio > drizzled while on the way to cathedral > stopped after our shoot at cathedral > started raining the moment we finished our last shot at botanic garden > stopped the moment we started setting up the equipment at sentosa.
it's simply amazing! the more i think about it, the more i feel like the israelites with the pillar of clouds that God provided for them in the desert.
ah yes, and passer-bys made us smile too!
the little girl at botanic garden who exclaimed that "the princess is here!", and the ang moh couple who stopped to take a picture of us and came up to congratulate us, and lastly a guy who videocamed us at clarke quay.
thurs
furniture shopping at sungei kadut (and the initial plan was to head down to geylang as well)
but we settled for everything at the first shop we went - avanni design.
love the dining set, sofa, tv console, coffee table.. and even the cushion.
basically, everything!
headed down to jalan besar as well but didn't get anything yet
dropped by harvey norman at night to check out washing machine and fridge
eyeing a few models; so now is to call up shops to ask for prices
-----------------------------
exciting week right?
we bought lights last sat and i love them!
especially... the dining room lights. wheeeee! fell in love with it at first sight.
and also the bedroom light; fits exactly to the curtain.
-----------------------------
alright, it's a little flooding with wedding preparation details uh?
but i can't help it! the whole process has been so exciting.. and we thank God for how He has watched over our discussion, our decision and the process! =)
